Botanical Description
The very large collection of plants made by Mutis also reposes in the herbarium of the Botanic Garden at Madrid. Although there is no specimen of Vallea stipularis in the Linnaean Herbarium actually written up as such by Linnaeus, a specimen exists which bears the name.
