Botanical Description
The plants figured were grown at Kew from bulbs com- municated by Dr. P. L. Giuseppi of Felixstowe. The species grows well in pots or in small "pockets" in a rock garden and only needs protection from extremes of cold and wet. Several authors have called attention to the range of flower size in R. Requienii. Briquet (loc. cit.) accepted two varieties under the names var. macrantha, equivalent to Parlatore's type, with the perianth 20-25 mm. long, and var. parviflora.
